State Route 29 - Channelization Project - Napa County
Updates Thursday July 16 until Friday July 24

NAPA COUNTY – Caltrans and local stakeholders are continuing construction of the State Route 29 (SR-29) Channelization Project in and near St. Helena in Napa County.

Daytime work - starting Friday July 17
Starting Friday July 17 until Friday July 24, crews are scheduled to perform daytime excavation work on the highway shoulder of northbound and southbound SR-29 between Whitehall Lane and Stice Lane. Daytime operations will occur Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM until 3:30 PM. No lane closures are scheduled for daytime work. Utility companies will also perform daytime work in the area related to the project.

Nighttime work - starting Thursday July 16
Starting Thursday July 16 through Wednesday July 22 crews will continue nighttime asphalt paving on the shoulder of northbound SR-29 from Mee Lane to Zinfandel Lane.

Starting Thursday July 23 through Friday July 24 crews are scheduled to perform asphalt paving work form Whitehall Lane to Stice Lane on the northbound shoulder. The shoulder will be closed to traffic until the project is complete.

Nighttime operations will occur Tuesday through Thursday from 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM the following mornings. Friday work will occur from 7:00 PM until 8:00 AM the following morning. Motorists may encounter delays as crews alternate northbound and southbound traffic on SR-29 onto one lane through the construction zone. Motorists should watch for flaggers. CHP will assist with directing traffic.
