I-780 Full Highway Closures-Ten Consecutive Nights
During Bridge Demolition
Starts Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 9:00 PM


SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will demolish the Laurel Street Bridge above westbound and eastbound Interstate-780 (I-780) in Vallejo during ten consecutive nights of work.

Bridge demolition starts Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 9:00 PM and will be completed by the morning of Monday, June 12, 2017.
I-780 Overnight Full Highway Closures-during bridge demolition

To ensure worker and public safety, during night-time demolition work, eastbound and westbound I-780 will be closed at Laurel Street overnight with detours on I-780 in effect.

During weekday work, overnight I-780 closures start at 9:00 PM each night until 5:00 AM the following mornings.

During weekend work starting on Friday June 2nd, Saturday, June 3rd, Sunday, June 4th, Friday, June 9th and Saturday, June 10 closures start at 8:00 PM each night until 9:00 AM the following mornings.

Detours-Westbound I-780 to westbound/eastbound I-80, Curtola Parkway
Motorists traveling on westbound I-780 (from Benicia to Vallejo) will be detoured to exit I-780 at Glen Cove Road. Then proceed right onto northbound Glen Cove Road, left onto westbound Benicia Road, stay on Benicia Road for approximately 1½ miles, continue on westbound Benicia Road over the I-80/Benicia Road overcrossing, left onto southbound Lemon Street/ Motorists will then have the option to travel either right on westbound Curtola Parkway (towards Downtown Vallejo), or turn left onto eastbound Curtola Parkway to enter either westbound I-80 or eastbound I-80.

Detours-Eastbound Curtola Parkway to Eastbound I-780
Motorists traveling onto eastbound I-780 (from Downtown Vallejo to Benicia) will be detoured onto the exit loop off-ramp to eastbound I-80 from Curtola Parkway, stay left, then maintain the left lane toward the Frontage Road exit, right onto Lincoln Road East, then at the stop sign make an immediate left onto eastbound Benicia Road, continue on Benicia Road for approximately one-mile, right onto southbound Glen Cove Road and enter eastbound I-780 from Glen Cove Road.

Westbound and Eastbound I-80 to Eastbound I-780
Motorists traveling onto eastbound I-780 from westbound I-80 are advised to exit I-80 onto eastbound Benicia Road, southbound Glen Cove Road and enter eastbound I-780 from Glen Cove Road.
Detour signs will be posted. Motorists should expect delays. The CHP will assist with traffic controls. All work is weather dependent.

Laurel Street Bridge Closure-Long-Term Closure
The Laurel Street Bridge at I-780 was closed on Tuesday May 31, 2017. The bridge will remain closed continuously until demolition of the existing bridge and construction of a new bridge is completed by the end of 2017. Local detours are in effect.

Northbound Laurel Street Detour
During construction of the new Laurel Street Bridge, residents and businesses south of the bridge traveling north of the bridge will be detoured onto northbound Laurel Street, right onto Spruce Street, enter eastbound I-780 from Spruce Street, proceed on eastbound I-780, exit Glen Cove Road, enter westbound I-780 from Glen Cove Road, proceed on westbound I-780, exit Cedar Street into Laurel Street neighborhood.

*Southbound Laurel Street Detour
Residents and businesses north of the bridge traveling south of the bridge will be detoured onto southbound Laurel Street, left onto westbound Benicia Road (over the I-80 overcrossing), left onto southbound Lemon Street, left onto eastbound Curtola Parkway, then continue onto eastbound I-780 from Curtola Parkway, then exit eastbound I-780 at Spruce Street, right onto Spruce Street, then left onto Laurel Street.

*When I-780 is closed overnight, use westbound I-80 from Curtola Parkway, proceed on westbound I-80 and exit onto Magazine Street to access Laurel Street when traveling north of the bridge to south of the bridge.

*Motorists traveling from north of the bridge may also enter westbound or eastbound
I-80 or I-780 from Curtola Parkway.

Long-Term Bridge Closure

Upcoming Bridge Demolition

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the Laurel Street Bridge above westbound and eastbound Interstate-780 (I-780) in Vallejo for approximately eight months as crews demolish and rebuild the bridge at the same site.
The bridge will be closed starting Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 9:00 AM.
After 9:00 AM on May 31, the bridge will be closed continuously until demolition of the existing bridge and construction of a new bridge is completed.

Northbound Laurel Street Detour
During construction of the new Laurel Street Bridge, residents and businesses south of the bridge traveling north of the bridge will be detoured onto northbound Laurel Street, right onto Spruce Street, enter eastbound I-780 from Spruce Street, proceed on eastbound I-780, exit Glen Cove Road, enter westbound I-780 from Glen Cove Road, proceed on westbound I-780, exit Cedar Street into Laurel Street neighborhood.

State Route 12-Center Divider Work
Intermittent Closures near Rio Vista
Three Consecutive Days Starting Tuesday, May 23

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will begin replacing damaged or missing center divider posts called “channelizers”, on State Route 12 (SR-12) between Rio Vista and Suisun City.

The “channelizers” have become worn and damaged over time. The three-day project starts Tuesday, May 23 and will be completed by Thursday, May 25.
Weather permitting, work will start each day Tuesday, May 23, Wednesday, May 24, and Thursday, May 25 at 9:00 AM and conclude at 3:00 PM.

Intermittent State Route-12 Closures:
To ensure public and worker safety, intermittent closures of State Route 12 (SR-12) between Drouin Drive and Shiloh Road are scheduled.

Crews will close the highway in both directions for 10 minutes at a time then reopen the highway to release traffic. CHP will help direct motorists in both eastbound and westbound directions. Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time.

Please drive cautiously and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you.

Meridian Road Bridge AT I-80 Vacaville Long-Term Closure Starts May 19

Overnight Closures on I-80
This Weekend

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the Interstate-80 (I-80) Meridian Road Bridge (Bridge #23-0147) continuously for approximately four months starting on Friday, May 19 at 6:30 AM. The bridge is located above westbound and eastbound I-80 in Vacaville.

The closure will allow Caltrans to perform bridge retrofit work which is scheduled to be completed in approximately four months. All work is weather permitting.

Long-Term Meridian Bridge Closure with Detours
During the long-term closure of the I-80 Meridian Road Bridge, nearby residents and businesses are advised to use the I-80 Midway Road Bridge just east of the Meridian Bridge as a general detour.

Westbound I-80 Overnight Closure and Detours
Saturday May 21-Sunday May 22
To ensure public and worker safety, during the one-night, partial demolition of the Meridian Bridge, a full overnight closure of westbound and eastbound I-80 between Meridian Road and Midway Road will be in effect Saturday, May 20 at 11:00 PM until Sunday, May 21 at 8:00 AM.

A short detour onto frontage roads near the bridge will be in effect. Detour signs will be posted. CHP will assist with traffic controls. \

Project Benefits
This project will retrofit the existing Meridian Road Bridge and will eventually demolish and rebuild the Midway Road Bridge. The work will seismically retrofit these bridges and bring them up to the latest seismic safety standards.

Storm Damage Repair Work on State Route 85 Connector –
May 22 2017 through mid-June 2017


Santa Clara County – Caltrans is conducting emergency storm damage repair work in San Jose to raise the approach slabs on the State Route (SR) 85 southbound High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) connector to State Route 101 and the SR-85 northbound HOV connector to State Route 101. The work requires night closures due to heavy daytime traffic volumes through HOV connectors. The work will begin May 22, 2017 and continue through mid-June 2017. Hours of the closures are as follows:

• SR-85 southbound HOV connector to SR-101 will be closed nightly Mondays through Thursdays from 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM.
• SR-85 SB HOV to SR-101 will be closed Fridays from 8:00 PM until 9:00 AM.
• SR-85 SB HOV to SR-101 will be closed Saturdays from 6:00 PM until 10:00 AM.
• SR-85 SB HOV to SR-101 will be closed Sundays from 5:00 PM until 5:00 AM.

• SR-85 northbound HOV connector to SR-101 will be closed nightly Mondays through Thursdays from 7:00 PM until 5:00 AM.
• SR-85 NB HOV to SR-101 will be closed Fridays from 7:00 PM until 9:00 AM.
• SR-85 NB HOV to SR-101 will be closed Saturdays from 7:00 PM until 11:00 AM.
• SR-85 NB HOV to SR-101 will be closed Sundays from 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM

During the closures, motorists are to use SR-85 mainline. Traffic delays and construction noise may be associated with the closures. Closures will not take place over the Memorial Day weekend.

This preliminary work in preparation of bridge demolition is scheduled to start Tuesday, the night of Tuesday, May 9, 2017. All work is weather permitting.

Motorists traveling from westbound and eastbound I-80 to eastbound I-780 (from Vallejo to Benicia) will be detoured to eastbound Benicia Road, southbound Glen Cove Road and enter eastbound I-780 from Glen Cove Road. Detour signs will be posted.
