104-Hours (4 Days-8-Hours) Road Closure Begins in Two Days
Significant Travel Delay Expected for July 4

San Francisco – In two days the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close northbound Interstate 280 from the U.S. 101/I-280 interchange to downtown San Francisco. The Fourth of July Holiday closure will begin Wednesday at 9 p.m. and continue until Monday at 5 a.m.

The California Department of Transportation expects that there will be significant travel delay during this northbound closure, and that motorists should in particular expect additional travel time on Friday, July 4. Alternate routes should be taken when possible.

Detour: Northbound Interstate 280 traffic will detour to U.S. 101. When travelling during the closure it is strongly advised to call 511 or check with 511.org and to use public transportation such as BART, Caltrain, MUNI, and SamTrans.

Full northbound closure Begins: 9 p.m. Wednesday evening, July 2
Full northbound closure Ends: 5 a.m., Monday morning, July 7.

Northbound on-ramp closures include:
  • Alemany Boulevard on-ramp
  • U.S. 101 connector to northbound Interstate 280
  • Indiana Street/25th Street on-ramp
  • 18th Street on-ramp

Southbound I-280 will remain open during the northbound closure.

Interstate-780 Ramp Closure in Benicia
Landscape Work Scheduled

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform landscape work on the East 5th Street onramp to eastbound Interstate-780 (I-780) in Benicia on Monday, June 30 starting at 9 a.m.

Crews will trim trees and remove overgrown vegetation. All work is weather permitting.

To ensure worker and public safety, the East 5th Street onramp will be closed on Monday June 30 starting at 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The following detour will be in effect:

East 5th Street onramp to eastbound I-780-Detour  
Motorists headed onto eastbound I-780 from East 5th Street will be detoured onto southbound East 5th Street, then to Military East, then to East Second Street, then enter eastbound I-780 from East Second Street.

Detour signs will be posted.
Motorists should allow for extra travel time and expect delays.

One-Way Traffic Controls and Connector Closures
Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will place concrete safety barriers on Green Valley Road and Interstate 80 (I-80) as part of
the I-80/I-680/Highway 12 Interchange Project in Fairfield.

The work will require one-way traffic controls at the following location:

Green Valley Road (one-way traffic controls):   
One-way traffic controls will be in effect on Green Valley Road between Lopes Road and Business Center Drive starting Saturday, June 28 at 12:01 a.m. until 5 a.m.

During one-way traffic controls, crews will alternate closures on northbound and southbound Green Valley Road to allow one-lane of traffic to proceed at a time. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times.

The work will also require some overnight ramp closures:
Eastbound I-80 connector to southbound I-680 (overnight closure)                                                                      Connector closed Friday, June 27 at 11 p.m. until Saturday, June 28 at 8 a.m.
Westbound I-80 connector to westbound Highway 12 (overnight closure)                                                      Connector closed Friday, June 27 at 11 p.m. until Saturday, June 28 at 5 a.m. 
Southbound Green Valley Road onramp to westbound I-80 (overnight closure)                         Onramp closed Friday, June 27 at 11 p.m. until Saturday, June 28 at 6 a.m.

U.S. 101 Old Redwood Highway Interchange Improvement Project
Freeway Closure Scheduled for Monday Night, June 30

Petaluma, Sonoma County –Caltrans has scheduled lane and ramp closures for the Old Redwood Highway Interchange Improvement project in Petaluma.

Full Freeway Closure of Northbound and Southbound U.S. 101
Monday night, June 30.
There will be a full closure of northbound and southbound U.S. 101 at the Old Redwood Highway Interchange. Motorists travelling northbound or southbound on U.S. 101 should expect additional travel time to reach their destination.

  • Two northbound lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Two southbound lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • There will be a full closure of northbound and southbound U.S. 101 at Old Redwood Highway Monday night, June 30, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • The northbound and southbound loop on-ramps from Old Redwood Highway to U.S. 101 will also be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Northbound Detour: Exit at Old Redwood Highway and turn right. Continue on Old Redwood Highway to State Route 116/Gravenstein Highway, and return to northbound U.S. 101.
  • Southbound Detour: Exit at Petaluma Boulevard N, turn right and continue to E. Washington Street. Turn left on E. Washington Street and continue to southbound U.S. 101.

  • One northbound lane will be closed Monday, June 30 – Wednesday, July 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tuesday night, July 1, and Wednesday night, July 2
  • Two southbound lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Two northbound lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

If this work is delayed due to weather conditions, it will be rescheduled for a later time. Please drive cautiously through the construction zone and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you and “Slow for the Cone Zone.” The California Highway Patrol will be on site during these closures.

Highway 160-Isleton Bridge
Weekend Full Bridge Closure-For Bridge Deck Repairs
Start Friday, June 27th at 10 p.m.
SACRAMENTO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform bridge deck repairs on the Highway 160-Isleton Bridge in Sacramento County starting Friday night, June 27th until the morning of Monday, June 30th. During the work, a full closure of the Isleton Bridge will be in effect.  
The work is scheduled to start Friday, June 27th at 10 p.m. and be completed on Monday, June 30th at 5 a.m. Crews will repair the bridge deck, which has become worn over time.
To ensure public and worker safety, the Isleton Bridge will be closed to motorists during the work. The following detour with detour signs will be in effect.
Northbound Highway 160 Detour: Motorists headed northbound onto the Isleton Bridge should continue onto River Road towards Walnut Grove, then cross the Walnut Grove Bridge to northbound Highway 160.

Southbound Highway 160 Detour: Motorists headed southbound on the Isleton Bridge should instead cross the Walnut Grove Bridge, then southbound on River Road until it becomes Highway 160. 
Please slow for flaggers and construction crews. Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time.

Boats and other water vessels on the Sacramento River will be able to pass normally underneath the Isleton Bridge during the work.

Full Nighttime closures continue at Maze Structure In Oakland

ALAMEDA COUNTY–The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be continuing night time full closures in Oakland on westbound Interstate 580 to eastbound Interstate 80 connector along with Interstate 580 westbound MacArthur On-ramp from June 25th through July 2nd.

There will be no construction scheduled from July 3rd to July 6th due to the holiday weekend.

Caltrans has scheduled additional construction activities on westbound Interstate 80 to eastbound 580 connector starting on July 7th. Construction is expected to be ongoing until September 2014.

Full Closures of 580 West – 80 East Connector and 580 West MacArthur On-ramp
June 25rd through July 2nd, 2014
Sunday through Thursday 11:00 P.M - 5:00 A.M.
Friday night and Saturday night 11:59 A.M. - 7:00 A.M.

Full Closures of Westbound Interstate 80 to Eastbound Interstate 580 connector and 580 East MacArthur Off-ramp:
July 7th  through August 15th, 2014
Sunday through Thursday 11:00 P.M - 5:00 A.M.
Friday night until Saturday morning 11:59 P.M. - 7:00 A.M.

Motorists are advised to use the following detour during the work. Detour Signs will also be posted. All work is weather permitting.

Detour for Interstate 580 West to Interstate 80 East traffic:
Motorists will continue on Interstate 80 west towards San Francisco, take “PARKING LOT EXIT ONLY” exit on the left to the Toll Plaza parking lot, and merge to Interstate 80 east.

Detour for Interstate 580 West MacArthur on-ramp traffic:
Motorists will turn right on San Pablo Ave (alternatively turn right on Hollis St), turn left on Powell St and merge to the 80E.

Detour for Interstate 80 West to Interstate 580 East traffic:
Motorists will continue to Interstate 880 South, exit at the West Grand Ave off-ramp, turn right on West Grand Ave and merge to the 580 east Maritime/West Grand on-ramp.

Detour for Interstate 580 East MacArthur off-ramp traffic:
Motorists will take the next exit to Webster St.

Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time.

Davis Street Demolition and Full Freeway Closure



ALAMEDA, CA The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will begin demolition work on the Davis Street bridge in San Leandro. The demolition work will start as early as July 7th 2014 and continue until July 24th 2014 .

The majority of the work will be performed at night with lane closures on I-880. Lane closures and full freeway closures will be in both the northbound 880 and southbound
880 directions. Full freeway closures will be in one direction only each night. The lane closure hours are 9:00 PM 5:00 AM on weeknights and 10:00PM - 8:00 AM on weekend nights. Demolition may occur between any of the above mentioned hours.

Full Freeway Closure Hours: Northbound 880:
     Weeknights 12:01 AM - 4:00 AM,
     12:01 AM - 5:00 AM on Friday night/Saturday morning
     12:01AM - 7:00AM on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Southbound 880:
     Weeknights 12:01AM - 4:00AM
     12:01 AM - 6:00 AM on Friday night/Saturday morning.
     12:01 AM - 7:00 AM on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Detour
The detours will take all freeway traffic off I-880 at Davis Street off-ramp and direct them across Davis Street onto the on-ramp.

During demolition residents are expected to have increased levels of noise. Motorists should expect delays during full freeway closure hours and are advised to use alternative routes if possible.
