Interstate 280 Bridge Hinge Replacement Project

104-Hours (4 Days-8-Hours) Road Closure Planned for Fourth of July Holiday Weekend

San Francisco – In 15 days the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close northbound Interstate 280 from the U.S. 101/I-280 interchange to downtown San Francisco. This closure is necessary to replace a bridge hinge on northbound I-280 between Cesar Chavez Street and 24^th Street. An additional closure is planned for the Labor Day Holiday weekend.

Full northbound closure Begins: 9 p.m. Wednesday evening, July 2

Full northbound closure Ends: 5 a.m., Monday morning, July 7.

Northbound on-ramp closures include:

• Alemany Boulevard on-ramp
• U.S. 101 connector to northbound Interstate 280
• Indiana Street/25^th Street on-ramp
• 18^th Street on-ramp

Northbound off-ramp closures include:

• Cesar Chavez Street off-ramp
• Mariposa Street off-ramp
• 6^th Street off-ramp
• King Street off-ramp

Detour: Northbound Interstate 280 traffic will detour to U.S. 101.

Note: Southbound I-280 will remain open during this closure
