Long Term Traffic Detour on State Route 1 to San Pedro Avenue in (Pacifica) San Mateo County

San Mateo County- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will detour traffic onto San Pedro Avenue from Route 1, south of Linda Mar Boulevard in the city of Pacifica on the morning of Friday, June 20. As part of the San Pedro Creek Bridge Replacement Project, this detour will allow construction crews to begin work in the creek and construct access to the creek. Pedestrians will have access along San Pedro Avenue facing the San Pedro Shopping Center.

Pedestrian traffic south of Linda Mar will not be allowed access east of the old bridge.

Southbound: Traffic will continue onto Route 1 by making a right turn onto San Pedro Avenue.

Northbound: Traffic coming from the Devil’s Slide Tunnels will continue onto San Pedro Avenue and make a left at Linda Mar Boulevard to get back onto Route 1.

Changeable message signs are in place to help guide motorist through the detour. This detour will be in effect throughout the duration of the project.

This project will be completed by October, 2015 (weather permitting).
