LANE CLOSURES PLANNED FOR HWY-13 (ASHBY AVENUE)
BETWEEN INTERSTATE 80 AND 7TH STREET JULY 13-17
Berkeley-Alameda County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has started a project for rock slope protection and slide repair and has scheduled lane closures of westbound and eastbound HWY-13 (Ashby Avenue) in Berkeley, between Interstate 80 (I-80) and 7th Street on Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17.
During the closure, one of two lanes will be closed and motorists will have a short merge for eastbound I-80 towards HWY-13 (Ashby Avenue) from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
• One of two lanes of westbound HWY-13 between 7th Street and I-80 will be closed Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
o One westbound lane will remain open, but motorists should expect travel delay in the construction zone.
• One of two lanes of eastbound HWY-13 between I-80 and 7th Street will be closed Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
o One eastbound lane will remain open, but motorists should expect travel delay in the construction zone.
California Highway Patrol will be on site during day closures.
This work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if necessary. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their commute. Please drive with caution through the construction zone, leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you and Slow for the Cone Zone.
