101 Palo Alto-Overnight SB Lane/Ramp Closures-July 7-11

Overnight Southbound Lane/Ramp Closures
U.S. Route 101 Palo Alto (San Mateo County) July 7-11

San Mateo County-The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will continue construction on the San Francisquito Creek Bridge Replacement Project at the border of San Mateo County and Santa Clara County on U.S. Route 101 in Palo Alto.
To ensure public and worker safety, crews have scheduled the following closures for July 7 - 12, Tuesday - Sunday.

U.S. Route 101 Southbound:
Lanes 1 & 2 closed between University Avenue and Embarcadero Road, Tuesday and Wednesday, July 7 - 8, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM

U.S. Route 101 Southbound:
Lanes 1 & 2 closed between University Avenue and Embarcadero Road, Thursday, July 9, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM

U.S. Route 101 Southbound:
Alternate Lanes will be closed between University Avenue and Embarcadero Road, Friday & Saturday, July 10 - 11, from 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM.

University On-ramp to U.S.Route 101 Southbound:
On-ramp will be closed, Friday, July 10, from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Detour will be in place.

Embarcadero Off-ramp from U.S.Route 101 Southbound:
Off-ramp will be closed, Friday & Saturday, July 10-11, from 9:00 PM to 08:00 AM. Detour will be in place.

These closures will allow crews to perform paving and striping in the median. Southbound Route 101 will have a new striping configuration, where traffic would be moved towards the median k-rail.


NOTE: Residents may notice increased noise from demolition equipment and mandatory backup alarms while the contractor is working in the construction zone.
