State Route 29 - Channelization Project - Napa County
Updates September 11 until September 18

NAPA COUNTY – Caltrans and local stakeholders are continuing construction of the State Route 29 (SR-29) Channelization Project in and near St. Helena in Napa County.

Daytime work – Friday September 11 until Friday September 18
AT&T is scheduled to remove remaining utility poles and abandoned underground cabling from Zinfandel Avenue to Charter Oak Avenue. Work will be primarily on the southbound shoulder. Work will be performed under a lane shift when necessary. Work is scheduled 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM. This work is being done under a utilities permit.

Site maintenance work will be performed daily by Caltrans contractors from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM for areas from Mee Lane to Stice Lane. This work will not require any type of closures and should have no effect on traffic. No night work is scheduled for this week.

*Major roadwork requiring lane closures will be restricted during the harvest season period starting August 15 and ending October 15. PG&E, railroad signal relocation work and maintenance and site cleanup work will continue throughout this period.

Project Benefits
The Highway 29 Channelization Project will rehabilitate the pavement, widen the shoulders, construct a two-way left turn lane, and improve the bicycle/highway/railroad crossing at Whitehall Lane. The project limits are in the Napa County city of St. Helena between Mee Lane and Charter Oak Avenue.

Caltrans thanks you for your patience as we improve California’s highways.
