Outside of these peak hours, meters remain on solid green from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM unless heavy traffic congestion occurs. During heavy traffic, meters will operate red-green.

Morning commute Westbound I-80: Meters will be solid green Mondays through Friday beginning October 4 from 5:00 AM until 10:00 AM. They will remain green unless heavy traffic occurs.

Sunday afternoon Westbound I-80: Meters will be solid green beginning October 4 at 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM. They will begin operating red-green from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM October 18, and remain on solid green outside of these hours from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

What is Ramp Metering?
Ramp metering is a traffic management strategy using traffic signals and accompanying equipment and techniques to manage onramp flow on the freeway system.

Drivers entering I-80 where ramp meters are activated should stop at red and wait until the metering light turns green to enter I-80.
