FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Real McCoy II and J-Mack Ferries
Closed Overnight and Intermittently
Due to Repairs and Heavy Storm Current
Starting February 8, 2017

SOLANO COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will temporarily suspend service of the Real McCoy Ferry on State Route 84 (SR-84) and the J-Mack Ferry on State Route 220 (SR-220).

The Real McCoy Ferry will be closed overnight starting Wednesday, February 8 at 10:00 PM until 4:00 AM on Thursday, February 9. Crews will be making necessary repairs to the boat’s hydraulic system.

Caltrans will also intermittently suspend service on the J-Mack Ferry on State Route 220 (SR-220) due to heavy current caused by this month’s storms and runoff in the Delta region.

During strong currents this week, Caltrans may intermittently close the J-Mack at various times when necessary during this series of storms.

During the closure of the Real McCoy and J-Mack ferries, motorists are advised to use the Miner’s Slough Bridge on SR-84 as a detour when traveling between Ryer Island and Sacramento and Solano Counties.
