FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Northbound U.S. 101 Lane Closure Due to Storm Damage
Between Oregon Expressway and University Avenue
Palo Alto and East Palo Alto (San Mateo County)
Expect Delays

SAN MATEO and SANTA CLARA COUNTIES – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has temporarily closed the far-left traffic lane on northbound U.S. Highway 101 (101) between Oregon Expressway and University Avenue in
Palo Alto due to emergency repairs.

The location is near the San Francisquito Creek Bridge at the border of San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Motorists should expect delays.

Caltrans is making emergency repairs to the existing northbound far-left traffic lane approaching the old San Francisquito Creek Bridge on northbound 101. This week’s heavy rains undermined a section of the roadway.

Caltrans estimates reopening of the affected lane could occur sometime between 12:01AM and 3:00AM on Saturday, February 11.

The affected lane is part of the San Francisquito Creek Bridge Replacement Project which began construction in spring 2016. For additional project information, go to: http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist4/projects/sanfrancisquito/

For 24/7 traffic updates, go to 511.org: https://511.org/

Caltrans appreciates your patience as we work to maintain California’s highways.
