Eastbound I-80 Connector to Southbound I-680-Fairfield
Overnight Closure-Starts Monday, August 10 at 7:00PM

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), and its project partner the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) are continuing work on the Interstate-80/Interstate-680/State Route-12 (I-80/I-680/SR-12) Interchange Project in Fairfield.
Starting the night of Monday, August 10 crews will install giant girders at the I-80/I-680 interchange. The girders will form the main horizontal support for the new Green Valley Road overcrossing above the I-680 connector.

Eastbound I-80 to southbound I-680-Overnight Connector Closure
To ensure worker and public safety, the eastbound I-80 connector to southbound I-680 will be closed Monday, August 10 thru Thursday, August 13 at 7:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following mornings.

During the closure, the following detour will be in effect:
Motorists will be detoured onto southbound Lopes Road, then left on Gold Hill Road, then enter southbound I-680 from Gold Hill Road. Detour signs will be posted.

Motorists should expect delays. All work is weather permitting. The posted speed limit through the construction zone on I-80 in Fairfield is 55 miles per hour. Please remember to #BeWorkZoneAlert

I-80/I-680/Highway-12 Project Improvements:
A new Green Valley Road overcrossing is being constructed just east of the existing overcrossing. It will have twice the number of lanes (4) as the existing overcrossing (2), along with a new on ramp to westbound I-80/SR-12. The connector ramp from westbound I-80 to westbound SR-12 also will be widened from one to two lanes.
