Work Resumes Spring 2016
Separate I-780 project between East 2nd & East 5th Streets

SOLANO COUNTY – Caltrans has temporarily suspended a major pavement repair project on Interstate 780 (I-780) in Solano County for the winter.

Crews are tentatively scheduled to resume work on the I-780 Rehabilitation Project in spring 2016. The work includes overlay and major pavement repair of seven miles of westbound and eastbound I-780 between Benicia and Vallejo.

Caltrans temporarily suspended the project due to cold and wet conditions which make it difficult to perform asphalt paving work.

Separate Caltrans project on I-780 in Benicia
Caltrans is currently performing a guardrail replacement project on I-780 in Benicia which started in late November 2015 and will conclude as early as late December 2015.

Caltrans is replacing the metal beam guardrail on westbound and eastbound I-780 between the East 5th Street undercrossing and the East 2nd Street undercrossing.

For worker and public safety, motorists should watch for intermittent night time closures of the East 5th street onramp to westbound I-780. Detour signs will be posted. All work is weather permitting.

Although no closures are scheduled at the East 2nd Street onramp to westbound I-780, motorists should drive with caution as construction vehicles enter and exit the roadway.

Work will be Mondays through Fridays at 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following mornings.
