U.S. 101 Construction in Petaluma
Full Freeway Closures Planned for Old Redwood Highway Interchange Project

Petaluma, Sonoma County – Friday night, November 22, Caltrans has scheduled temporary ramp and full freeway closures for the U.S. 101 construction project at the Old Redwood Highway Interchange. There will be several closures on northbound and southbound U.S. 101 that will last approximately 15 minutes. During the closures traffic will be detoured while workers adjust falsework for the new bridge. Falsework is a temporary structure that will support the components of a bridge during construction.


Old Redwood Highway Interchange
  • Northbound U.S. 101 will be closed at various times at the Old Redwood Highway Interchange Friday night, November 22, between 11:59 p.m. and  6 a.m. Detour: Exit at Old Redwood Highway, turn right, continue to State Route 116/Gravenstein Highway, and return to northbound U.S. 101.
  • The northbound loop on-ramp from eastbound Old Redwood Highway will be closed at various times Friday night, November 22, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • Southbound U.S. 101 will be closed at Old Redwood Highway Interchange at various time on Wednesday night, November 22, between 11:00 p.m. and  6 a.m. Detour: Exit at Petaluma Boulevard N, turn right and continue to E. Washington Street. Turn left on E. Washington Street and continue to southbound U.S. 101.
  • The southbound loop on-ramp from westbound Old Redwood Highway will also be closed at various times Friday night, November 22, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
