FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

U.S. 101 Airport Blvd. Interchange Project
Caltrans Schedules Temporary Freeway Closures to Adjust Falsework

SONOMA COUNTY – Wednesday night, November 13, Caltrans will have temporary traffic closures on both northbound and southbound U.S. 101, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. These closures are necessary so that the Caltrans contractor can make adjustments to the falsework for the new Airport Boulevard bridge. Falsework is a temporary structure that will support the components of a bridge during construction.

On Wednesday night, the California Highway Patrol will perform brief traffic breaks on northbound and southbound U.S. 101.  Each traffic break will last approximately 5 to 10 minutes, and then the road will be reopened to traffic.

This work is weather dependent. If it is delayed due to weather conditions, it will be rescheduled for a later time. Please drive cautiously through the construction zone and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you.  Please remember to Slow for the Cone Zone. The California Highway Patrol will be on site during these closures.
