FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

State Route 12-Rio Vista Bridge
Intermittent Bridge Closures-Mandatory Inspections
Thursday, April 6, 2017

SOLANO and SACRAMENTO COUNTIES – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform mandatory inspections of the Rio Vista Bridge on State Route 12 (SR-12) between Solano and Sacramento Counties.

The one-day inspections are scheduled starting Thursday, April 6 beginning at 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM that same day. All work is weather permitting.
The inspections are part of Caltrans’ preventive maintenance plan on the bridge.

During the inspections, motorists traveling across the Rio Vista Bridge on SR-12 may experience delays as crews intermittently open the bridge deck.

Motorists should expect delays, allow for extra travel time and may see the bridge open intermittently with no boat or ship present.

For boat and ship traffic, the bridge will operate normally for any vessels passing underneath it along the Sacramento River.

Caltrans thanks you for your patience as we work to maintain California’s highways and bridges. Please #BeWorkZoneAlert.
