State Route 29--Between SR-128 and Zinfandel Lane
Preliminary Work Completed Early
Overnight Closures-Week of May 3 Canceled

NAPA COUNTY – Caltrans and its local stakeholders have completed preliminary railroad realignment work at State Route 29 (SR-29) near Whitehall Lane in Napa County. The work is in preparation of the SR-29 St. Helena Channelization Project.

Due to the early completion of the preliminary railroad work, the full overnight highway closures on SR-29 near St. Helena, which were scheduled the week of Sunday May 3 have been canceled.

Major Construction- Starts June 2015
The preliminary work is in preparation of the SR-29 St. Helena Channelization Project.
Major construction activities on the Channelization Project are tentatively scheduled to start in June 2015, and be completed in 2017.

Although no full highway closures are scheduled at this time, drivers may experience delays as crews work to widen SR-29 with intermittent alternating lane closures in effect during construction. Caltrans will make an announcement once additional project information is available.

The Channelization Project will rehabilitate the pavement, provide a continuous 2-way left turn lane and reconstruct the adjacent bike path.
