SOLANO COUNTY– Caltrans has started preliminary work on the Interstate 680 (I-680) Rehabilitation Project in Solano County, and is scheduled to start major construction the week of May 11. The project will rehabilitate and repave approximately 13-miles of northbound and southbound I-680 between Fairfield and Benicia.

I-680 is a heavily traveled route between the Bay Area and Sacramento.

Construction- Tentatively starts mid-May
Major construction activities are tentatively scheduled to start the week of May 11 and be completed as early as spring 2016.

Although no full highway closures are scheduled at this time, drivers may experience delays as crews work to repave I-680 with intermittent overnight alternating ramp and lane closures in effect during construction. Regular project construction hours will be between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM. All work is weather permitting.

Caltrans will make an announcement once additional project information is available.
