FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SR 37/121 Intersection Signage and Painting Postponed
Due to Weather
Improvements Will Discourage Queue-Jumping

SONOMA COUNTY — Caltrans has postponed implementation of improvements to the intersection of State Highway 37 and 121 in Sonoma County due to weather. Caltrans will make an announcement as soon as a new timeframe to repaint lanes and install new signage is determined.

The intersection has experienced congestion caused in part by queue-jumping in the eastbound lanes of Highway 37. Caltrans will implement a series of improvements consisting of new signage and striping that will help improve travel time through the intersection. Among the improvements are:

• Improved lane striping that provides two lanes of mixed-flow traffic eastbound on SR-37.
• New signage that directs eastbound drivers approaching the intersection to use either lane for continuing on SR-37, or to use left turn pockets to turn onto SR-121.
