Storm Damage Closure on Highway 1 in Sonoma

Sonoma County– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has indefinitely extended the closure  of Highway 1  between Fort Ross Road and Meyers Grade Road in Sonoma County. The closure began Wednesday afternoon, December 05, 2012.

This closure will allow work crews to perform long-term repairs to this section of storm- damaged Highway 1, and will ensure the safety of drivers and work crews.

Detours:

Detour northbound: Highway 1 traffic will be directed off the highway at Meyers Grade Road, to Seaview Road, then to Timber Cove Road.

Detour southbound: Highway 1 traffic will be directed off the highway at Fort Ross Road to Timber Cove Road, then to Seaview Road and will reenter at Meyers Grade Road.

Note: Fort Ross Road is not recommended for public traffic.

The detour is approximately six miles in length.

An Advanced Warning Changeable Message Signs are in place to warn drivers of this closure.

Please exercise caution while driving, and slow for the construction crews. We appreciate your patience as we work to repair the storm damage.
