FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Interstate-80/Interstate-680/Highway 12 Interchange Project-Fairfield
Overnight Restriping Work and Lane Switch On Westbound I-80
Wednesday, July 16

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will restripe the traffic lanes of westbound I-80 near the I-80/I-680/Highway 12 Interchange as part of the I-80/I-680/Highway 12 Interchange Project in Fairfield.

The work will require various overnight lane closures. One lane of westbound I-80 will remain open at all times. Motorists should expect delays, allow extra travel, and watch for crews at work.

Westbound I-80 between I-680 and Highway 12 Interchange (restriping lanes):
Crews will restripe the traffic lanes of westbound I-80 between the westbound I-80 connector ramp to southbound I-680 and the westbound I-80 connector ramp to westbound Highway 12. The work is scheduled to start Wednesday, July 16 at 7 p.m. and be completed at 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 17.

The work will reconfigure the traffic lanes on westbound I-80, motorists should watch for the reconfigured traffic lanes during the morning commute on July 17.

I-80/I-680/Highway-12 Project Improvements:
The work is in preparation of the first construction package of the I-80/I-680/Highway-12 Interchange project. During this first phase, a new Green Valley Road overcrossing will be constructed above I-80 about 200 feet east of the existing overcrossing. The new overcrossing will have twice the number of lanes (4) as the existing overcrossing (2), along with a new on ramp to westbound I-80/Highway-12. The connector ramp from westbound I-80 to Highway-12 also will be widened from one lane to two lanes.
