Weekly Lane Closures for the San Mateo County Route 82
Smart Corridor Project
                         
San Mateo County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has scheduled the following lane closures for the week of July 29, 2013, through August 2,   2013 as part of the Route 82 (El Camino Real) Smart Corridor project.

Caltrans crews will install an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) system that provides traffic management tools to manage traffic on local streets and State Route 82. Improvements include, a fiber optic communication system, interconnection of local and State traffic signals, trailblazer signs, message signs, vehicle detection systems and fixed cameras. This system will run from the City of San Bruno to Redwood City.

Partners include: (C/CAG) City and County of Associated Governments of San Mateo County, US Department of Transportation-Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and the following Cities, San Bruno, Millbrae, Burlingame, San Mateo, Belmont, San Carlos and Redwood City.

Construction is expected to be completed in October, 2013. (Weather Permitting)

Real McCoy II Ferry Overnight Closure on July 25 
For Regular Preventive Maintenance
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will temporarily suspend service of the Real McCoy II Ferry to perform regular preventive maintenance on Thursday, July 25th at 10 p.m. The Real McCoy II will be taken out of service at 10 p.m. Thursday, July 25th until Friday, July 26th at 4 a.m. 
The Real McCoy II also known as the Cache Slough Ferry, provides regular service on State Route 84 between Ryer Island and the city of Rio Vista in Solano County.
Real McCoy II Ferry Detour
During this service interruption, motorists are advised to use Highway 160 and the J-Mack Ferry along Highway 220.

Due to Gas Main Break-Evacuations In Area

CONTRA COSTA COUNTYThe northbound and southbound I-680 offramps at Stonevalley Road in Danville remain closed as of 12:30 p.m. following a gas main break in the area. Crews estimate reopening the ramps at approximately 6 p.m. The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department has ordered some evacuations in the immediate area.

One-Way Traffic Controls for Week of Monday, July 22nd

SAN MATEO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will need to perform electrical work along the north and south approach roads of the Tom Lantos Tunnels on Highway 1 in San Mateo County.  

Tuesday, July 23rd to Friday, July 26th -Lane Closure Overnight
To ensure worker and public safety, one-way traffic controls will be switching from the northbound bore to the southbound bore throughout the night of July 23rd to July 26th at the Tom Lantos Tunnels.  

The overnight work is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23rd to Thursday, July 25th. The work will start each night at 7 p.m. and will be completed each following morning at 7 a.m.

Additional overnight work is also scheduled for Friday, July 26th. The work on Friday will start at 9 p.m. and will be completed the following morning at 7 a.m.

During one-way traffic controls, one lane of traffic through one of the tunnels will remain open at all times with flaggers alternating northbound and southbound traffic.

All work is weather permitting. Motorists should allow for extra travel time.

Full Closure Cancelled for SR 116 at U.S. 101 Interchange

Petaluma, Sonoma County – This morning the Caltrans contractor completed falsework installation at the U.S. 101/State Route 116 interchange.  Falsework is a temporary structure that supports the components of a bridge during construction.

The full closure of SR 116 at U.S. 101 that was previously planned for Friday night, July 19, has been cancelled.

(SR-262) TO BEGIN THIS WEEKEND


ALAMEDA – Caltrans, in partnership with the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority will temporarily close the westbound (w/b) lanes in the City of Fremont along Mission Boulevard in order to begin construction of a new railroad underpass structure.

Extended w/b lane closures for Mission Blvd. this weekend only are as follows:
           
·         Friday, July 19th, from 9 p.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20th

·         Saturday July 20th, at 9 p.m., until 11 a.m. Sunday, July 21

Regularly-scheduled lane closures for Mission Blvd. resume (as necessary) on Sunday, July 21 and Tuesday, July 23, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Detour routes for all closures are:

·         From I-680: Westbound Mission Blvd. will be closed between Warm Springs Blvd. and I-880 -  use Auto Mall Parkway.  Warren Avenue is closed between Kato Road and Mission Falls Court and should not be used as an alternate for Mission Blvd.

·         To I-880: Alternative options for westbound motorists in south Fremont include Fremont Blvd. and Dixon Landing, in Milpitas.

Alameda County/Contra Costa County –Caltrans has scheduled ramp closures on eastbound and westbound Interstate 80 for construction activities for the Interstate 80 Integrated Corridor Mobility Project.  


  • The eastbound I-80 Powell Street on-ramp will be closed Monday night, July 15, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour: Take Christie Avenue, right on 65th Street, left on Shellmound Street, left on Potter Street, and take the eastbound I-80 on-ramp.

  • The westbound I-80 Powell Street on-ramp will be closed Tuesday night, July 16, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour: take Frontage Road to the westbound I-80 Ashby Avenue on-ramp.

  • The eastbound I-80 Ashby Avenue on-ramp will be closed Wednesday night, July 17, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour: take Frontage Road to Powell Street and use the eastbound I-80 Powell Street on-ramp.

  • One lane of the eastbound I-80 Carlson Boulevard on-ramp will be closed Thursday night, July 18, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. One lane will remain open during this work.

  • One lane of the westbound I-80 Potrero Boulevard on-ramp will be closed Friday night, July 19, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. One lane will remain open during this work.

  • The westbound I-80 Ashby Avenue on-ramp will be closed Thursday night, July 25, Monday night, July 29, and Tuesday night, July 30, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour: Take Frontage Road to the westbound I-80 Powell Street on-ramp.

  • The eastbound I-80 El Portal Drive on-ramp will be closed Monday night, July 29, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour: Take San Pablo Dam Road to the eastbound I-80 San Pablo Dam Road on-ramp; or take the westbound I-80 El Portal on-ramp, exit at San Pablo Dam road, cross over the freeway and take the eastbound San Pablo Dam Road on-ramp.

This work is weather dependent, and if delayed due to weather conditions will be rescheduled. Please drive cautiously through the construction zone and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you.  Please remember to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”

The I-80 Integrated Corridor Mobility project will provide safety improvements for the traveling public; mobility and efficiency during commute hours; automated, integrated technology to manage traffic efficiently; real-time traffic information for travelers; with tax dollars funding SMART solutions.

Closures Scheduled Overnight Starting Thursday, July 18th


NAPA AND SOLANO COUNTIES – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be paving the existing traffic lanes on eastbound and westbound Highway 12-Jameson Canyon starting Thursday, July 18th at 11 p.m. The work is part of the Highway 12-Jameson Canyon Widening Project.  

This stage of work starting July 18th and concluding July 27th will require full overnight highway closures.

Full Overnight Highway Closures
To ensure worker and public safety, eastbound and westbound Highway 12 between Highway 29 and Red Top Road is scheduled to be closed overnight on Thursday, July 18th, and Friday, July 19th.  The closures will be in effect starting at 11 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.

Highway 12 between Highway 29 and Red Top Road will also be closed starting Sunday, July 21st until Saturday, July 27th. Those closures will be in effect each night Sunday through Friday starting at 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.  

Highway 12-Jameson Canyon Detour
During the overnight highway closures, eastbound Highway 12 motorists are advised to use southbound Highway 29 to eastbound Highway 37 to eastbound Interstate 80. Westbound Highway 12 motorists should use westbound Interstate 80 to westbound Highway 37 to northbound Highway 29.

Local access is available for Jameson Canyon residents and emergency vehicles only. Caltrans will also install electronic message signs. All work is weather permitting.
