Interstate 80 Integrated Corridor Mobility Project
Ramp Closures Continue

Alameda County/Contra Costa County –Caltrans has scheduled ramp closures on eastbound and westbound Interstate 80 for construction activities for the Interstate 80 Integrated Corridor Mobility Project.  


  • The eastbound I-80 Powell Street on-ramp will be closed Monday night, July 15, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour: Take Christie Avenue, right on 65th Street, left on Shellmound Street, left on Potter Street, and take the eastbound I-80 on-ramp.

  • The westbound I-80 Powell Street on-ramp will be closed Tuesday night, July 16, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour: take Frontage Road to the westbound I-80 Ashby Avenue on-ramp.

  • The eastbound I-80 Ashby Avenue on-ramp will be closed Wednesday night, July 17, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour: take Frontage Road to Powell Street and use the eastbound I-80 Powell Street on-ramp.

  • One lane of the eastbound I-80 Carlson Boulevard on-ramp will be closed Thursday night, July 18, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. One lane will remain open during this work.

  • One lane of the westbound I-80 Potrero Boulevard on-ramp will be closed Friday night, July 19, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. One lane will remain open during this work.

  • The westbound I-80 Ashby Avenue on-ramp will be closed Thursday night, July 25, Monday night, July 29, and Tuesday night, July 30, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour: Take Frontage Road to the westbound I-80 Powell Street on-ramp.

  • The eastbound I-80 El Portal Drive on-ramp will be closed Monday night, July 29, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour: Take San Pablo Dam Road to the eastbound I-80 San Pablo Dam Road on-ramp; or take the westbound I-80 El Portal on-ramp, exit at San Pablo Dam road, cross over the freeway and take the eastbound San Pablo Dam Road on-ramp.

This work is weather dependent, and if delayed due to weather conditions will be rescheduled. Please drive cautiously through the construction zone and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you.  Please remember to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”

The I-80 Integrated Corridor Mobility project will provide safety improvements for the traveling public; mobility and efficiency during commute hours; automated, integrated technology to manage traffic efficiently; real-time traffic information for travelers; with tax dollars funding SMART solutions.
