SAN MATEO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will need to perform electrical work along the north and south approach roads of the Tom Lantos Tunnels on Highway 1 in San Mateo County.

Tuesday, July 23rd to Friday, July 26th -Lane Closure Overnight
To ensure worker and public safety, one-way traffic controls will be switching from the northbound bore to the southbound bore throughout the night of July 23rd to July 26th at the Tom Lantos Tunnels.

The overnight work is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23rd to Thursday, July 25th. The work will start each night at 7 p.m. and will be completed each following morning at 7 a.m.

Additional overnight work is also scheduled for Friday, July 26th. The work on Friday will start at 9 p.m. and will be completed the following morning at 7 a.m.

During one-way traffic controls, one lane of traffic through one of the tunnels will remain open at all times with flaggers alternating northbound and southbound traffic.

All work is weather permitting. Motorists should allow for extra travel time.

Additional project information is posted on the Caltrans’ Highway 1-Devil’s Slide webpage at: http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist4/dslide/
