Highway 1-Tom Lantos Tunnels
One-Way Traffic Controls for Week
of Monday, July 22nd
SAN MATEO
COUNTY – The
California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will need to perform
electrical work along the north and south approach roads of the Tom Lantos
Tunnels on Highway 1 in San Mateo County.
Tuesday,
July 23rd to Friday, July 26th -Lane Closure Overnight
To ensure
worker and public safety, one-way traffic controls will be switching from the
northbound bore to the southbound bore throughout the night of July 23rd
to July 26th at the Tom Lantos Tunnels.
The overnight
work is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23rd to Thursday, July 25th. The
work will start each night at 7 p.m. and will be completed each following
morning at 7 a.m.
Additional
overnight work is also scheduled for Friday, July 26th. The work on
Friday will start at 9 p.m. and will be completed the following morning at 7
a.m.
During
one-way traffic controls, one lane of traffic through one of the tunnels will
remain open at all times with flaggers alternating northbound and southbound
traffic.
All work is
weather permitting. Motorists should allow for extra travel
time.
