U.S. 101 / State Route 116 Construction in Petaluma Full Freeway Closures Scheduled at U.S. 101 Petaluma Boulevard S. Interchange
Petaluma, Sonoma County – Caltrans has scheduled full freeway closures for
U.S. 101 at the Petaluma Boulevard South interchange in Petaluma from Tuesday,
September 24th through Friday, September 27th, to install
falsework to begin construction of the new interchange. Falsework is a
temporary structure that will support the components of a bridge during
construction.
Caltrans has scheduled the following full
freeway closures:
- Northbound
U.S. 101 will be closed Tuesday night, September
24th, and Wednesday night, September 25th, from
11:59 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Detour: Follow construction detour
signs. During this closure, Caltrans will temporarily reopen the former
Petaluma Boulevard South off-ramp. Motorists will continue on Petaluma
Boulevard South to the northbound Petaluma Boulevard South on-ramp and
return to the freeway.
- Southbound U.S. 101 will be closed Thursday night,
September 26th, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., and Friday night,
September 27th, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Detour: Exit at State Route (SR)
116, turn left on Lakeville Highway, continue to SR 37, turn right, and
continue to U.S. 101.
