Upcoming Full Closures on Interstate 680 in Contra Costa County

Contra CostaCaltrans (District 4) has a revised schedule for full overnight closures in Contra Costa County on Interstate 680 northbound at the Highway 242/680 split for a slab replacement project. The dates and times are:


·         Monday night, September 16, from 12:01 am to 5:00 am.

Tuesday night, September 17, from 12:01 am to 5:00 am.

Wednesday night, September 18, from 12:01 am to 5:00 am.

Thursday night, September 19, from 12:01 am to 5:00 am.

Traffic will be detoured as below:

1.    Get off at Monument Boulevard
2.    Turn left on to westbound Monument Boulevard
3.    Turn right on to northbound Contra Costa Boulevard
4.    Turn right on Sun Valley/Willow Pass Road
5.    Detour end at Willow Pass Road on-ramp to northbound Interstate 680

This work is weather dependent, and if delayed due to weather conditions will be rescheduled. Please drive cautiously through the construction zone and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you.

Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes if possible. Please drive cautiously and remember to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
