SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will begin replacing about 300 damaged or missing center divider posts called channelizers on Highway 12 between Rio Vista and Suisun City. The channelizers have become worn and damaged over time. The three-day project is scheduled to start Tuesday, September 24th and will be completed by Thursday, September 26th.
Weather permitting, work will start each day Tuesday, September 24th, Wednesday, September 25th, and Thursday, September 26th at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m.
Intermittent Highway 12 Closures:
To ensure public and worker safety, intermittent closures of Highway 12 between Drouin Drive in Rio Vista and Denverton Road near Suisun City are scheduled.
Crews will close the highway in both directions for 10 minutes at a time then reopen the highway to release traffic. CHP will help direct motorists in both eastbound and westbound directions. Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time.
Please drive cautiously and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you.
