Interstate 780 – Major Pavement Repair Resumes
Benicia and Vallejo
Work for Thursday, April 28 – Friday, May 6

SOLANO COUNTY – Caltrans resumes major pavement repair on Interstate 780 (I-780) in Solano County following a winter break in work. The project includes overlay and pavement repair of seven miles of westbound and eastbound I-780 between Benicia and Vallejo. Project will be completed as early as summer 2016.

Although no full highway closures are scheduled, motorists may experience delays as crews work on I-780 with intermittent, overnight, alternating ramp and lane closures.

The following ramps and connectors will be closed intermittently starting at 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM the next morning Monday-Friday April 28 until May 6. Crews will alternate ramp closures. No two consecutive ramps will be closed at the same time. Detour signs will be posted. Caltrans will make additional announcements for work beyond May 6.

Real McCoy II Ferry Closed For Overnight Maintenance
Starting Thursday, April 28 at 10:00 PM

SOLANO COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will temporarily suspend service of the Real McCoy II Ferry to perform overnight maintenance.

The Real McCoy II is scheduled to be closed Thursday, April 28 at 10:00 PM until the morning of Friday, April 29 at 4:00 AM. All work is weather permitting.
The Real McCoy II also known as the Cache Slough Ferry, provides regular service on State Route 84 between Ryer Island and the city of Rio Vista in Solano County.

The delta region ferry normally runs scheduled crossings every 20 minutes, on the hour, 20 minutes after the hour, and 40 minutes after the hour.
Real McCoy II Ferry Detour

During Thursday’s overnight service interruption of the Real McCoy Ferry, motorists are advised to use the J-Mack Ferry on State Route 220 or the Miner Slough Bridge on State Route 84 to travel overnight between Ryer Island and neighboring communities in Sacramento and Solano counties.

State Route 13 Resurfacing in Oakland
Starts April 26, 2016

Oakland, Calif. – Caltrans is conducting resurfacing work for pavement preservation on State Route 13 in Alameda County. The project limits for the work on SR-13 are from Interstate 580 to State Route 24. Work will take place at night. Work may involve noise, lane and ramp closures.

The following lane reductions are anticipated on Monday April 25, Tuesday April 26, Wednesday April 27 and Thursday April 28:

• SR-13 southbound and northbound may be reduced to one lane from 9:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following day within the project limits.
• On ramps and off ramps within the project limits may be periodically closed during the same time periods. Detour signs will be posted to guide motorists.

State Route 12 Laguna de Santa Rosa Project
Road Closure and Traffic Shift to New Bridge Scheduled for Friday Night, May 6

SONOMA COUNTY – On Friday night, May 6, Caltrans will close State Route 12 at the Laguna de Santa Rosa Bridge in order to shift traffic to the first half of the new bridge. During this work, residents may notice increased noise from construction and mandatory backup alarms.

• SR 12 at the Laguna de Santa Rosa Bridge will be closed Friday night, May 6, at 10 p.m. and reopen on Saturday morning, May 7, at 7 a.m.
• SR 12 between Morris Street and Llano Road will only be open to local traffic.
• During the full highway closure, Village Park residents will not be permitted to freely enter the highway. Flaggers will control access, and residents should expect delays.
• If work is delayed due to weather conditions, the closure will be rescheduled for Saturday night, May 7, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Detour for eastbound SR 12 traffic: Go northbound on Petaluma Avenue, left on McKinley Street, right on North Main Street, left on Route 116/Healdsburg Avenue, right on eastbound Occidental Road, right on southbound Fulton Road, and return to SR 12.

Detour for westbound SR 12 traffic: turn right on Fulton Road, left on Occidental Road, left on SR 116 (North Gravenstein Highway), right on North Main Street, and return to SR 12.

If work is delayed due to weather conditions, it will be rescheduled. Please drive cautiously through the construction zone, leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you, and Slow for the Cone Zone.

Interstate 80/Green Valley Road Overcrossing-Fairfield
Watch for Temporary Traffic Lanes
Start Friday, April 29

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and its project partner the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) are nearing completion of construction of the new Green Valley Road overcrossing above Interstate-80 (I-80) in Solano County.

Green Valley Road-I-80-New Lane Configuration-Friday, April 29
Starting Friday, April 29, northbound traffic on the Green Valley Road overcrossing above westbound and eastbound I-80 will be routed onto the new overcrossing. Southbound traffic will continue to use the existing lanes on the existing overcrossing.


The temporary configuration will allow crews to continue work on new approach lanes and prepare for demolition of the old overcrossing. This configuration will be in place for about six weeks until the new overcrossing is opened northbound and southbound.

Eastbound I-80 to Green Valley Road Exit-Detour
Starting April 29 until further notice, motorists exiting Green Valley Road from eastbound I-80 will be directed in the southbound direction only due to the temporary traffic on the existing overcrossing. Northbound Green Valley Road motorists from eastbound I-80 are advised to use the eastbound I-80 Suisun Valley Road exit as a detour.

NB Green Valley Road Traffic-Using Suisun Valley Road Detour
Motorists headed to northbound Green Valley Road and using Suisun Valley Road as detour are advised to exit Suisun Valley Road, turn left at Pittman Road, proceed across the I-80 overcrossing onto northbound Suisun Valley Road, then westbound on Business Center Drive, and proceed on Business Center Drive for about a ¼ mile to Green Valley Road.

Motorists should watch for flaggers and expect delays. The Fairfield Police Department will assist with traffic controls. All work is weather permitting.

Updates Starting Sunday, April 24

NAPA COUNTY – Caltrans and its local stakeholders are continuing construction of the State Route 29 (SR-29) Channelization Project in and near St. Helena in Napa County.

Below is the week-ahead project update.

WEEK STARTING APRIL 24-April 30, 2016

Day Work
• Roadway excavation and compaction btwn Dowdell LN & Charter Oak Ave on northbound SR-29.
• Storm drain construction between Stice Lane and Dowdell Lane on southbound SR-29.

Work is scheduled 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Wed through Fri. No daytime lane closures anticipated.

Night Work
• Temporary re-striping to shift northbound traffic to the center channelization lane. Re-striping is between Mee Lane to Charter Oak Avenue – Monday & Tuesday nights
• Installation of temporary railing (k-rail) between Dowdell LN and Charter Oak AV – Wed night

Work is scheduled 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday evening through Thursday morning. One-way traffic control will in effect. Delays of up to 5 minutes are expected. Left-turn movements from southbound 29 onto Mills Lane may be limited.

Although the lane shift will primarily be between Dowdell Lane and Charter Oak for the k-rail placement, the temporary striping will encompass the entire length of the project. This is necessary as crews will need to transition to two lanes and other temporary striping work.

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the J-Mack Ferry in the Delta overnight for routine preventive maintenance.

The J-Mack is scheduled to close starting Thursday, April 21 at 10:00 PM until Friday, April 22 at 4:00 AM.

The J-Mack Ferry runs on a cable across Steamboat Slough between Ryer Island in Solano County and Sacramento County.

The J-Mack, provides around the clock service on State Route 220.

Roadway Repair Project Begins on State Routes 12/121

Sonoma County – Caltrans is starting a retaining wall project on State Routes 12/121 east of Schellville, between Ramal Road and Napa Road.

• For the first week of construction, beginning Monday night, April 18, there will be one-way reversible traffic control, Monday night through Friday night, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

• On Sunday, April 24, the work schedule will change, and there will be one-way reversible traffic control, Sunday night through Thursday night, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. This work schedule is expected to continue for the duration of the project.

• Work will continue into late May or early June 2016.

This night work involves installing 31 steel soldier piles (33 ft. 8 in. long) into 24 inch diameter drilled shafts that will be backfilled with concrete. Residents should expect to hear increased noise from heavy construction equipment and back-up alarms.

Please drive cautiously through the construction zone, follow the direction of flaggers, leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you, and “Slow for the Cone Zone.”

Start Sunday, April 17, 2016

SOLANO AND SACRAMENTO COUNTIES – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform necessary bridge deck repairs on the Rio Vista Bridge on State Route 12 (SR-12) between Solano and Sacramento Counties.
The work is scheduled, Sunday, April 17 starting at 6:00 AM and will be completed at 9:00 AM that same morning. All work is weather permitting.

To ensure public and worker safety, one-way traffic controls will be in effect. Crews will alternate lane closures in both eastbound and westbound directions. This will allow one lane on the bridge to remain open during the work. Flaggers will help direct traffic.

Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time.
For boat and ship traffic, the bridge will operate normally for any vessels passing underneath it along the Sacramento River.

SR-121 at Sarco Creek NB Closures Start April 18

Water Utility Relocation on Highway 121 (Silverado Trail) at Sarco Creek
Scheduled to begin April 18, 2016

NAPA, California – The City of Napa, the Napa Sanitation District, and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) are working together to relocate utilities during preliminary work on the State Route 121 (SR-121) Sarco Creek Bridge Replacement Project. Construction of the replacement bridge is scheduled to start in early 2017.

As part of the preliminary utility work, the city will begin relocating a water main on Silverado Trail at Sarco Creek (approximately 0.1 miles south of Monticello Road & Silverado Trail). The water main relocation will begin April 18, 2016, and continue through May 31, 2016. This work will require a northbound lane closure along Silverado Trail between Hagen Road and Monticello Road.

Also in preparation for the bridge replacement project, Napa Sanitation District will be relocating sewer mains beginning June 1 and continuing through October 31. This work will require a northbound closure along Silverado Trail between Hagen Road and Monticello Road.

One-Way Traffic Controls-Start Monday, April 11

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform four consecutive days of pavement repair work on eastbound and westbound State Route 12 (SR-12) between Rio Vista and Suisun City starting Monday, April 11.

To ensure public and worker safety, one-way traffic controls will be in effect on SR-12 between Curry Road and Azevedo Road beginning Monday, April 11 and concluding on Thursday, April 14. Work starts at 8:30 AM and concludes at 3:00 PM each day.

Interstate-80-Retro Reflective Sign Installation
Overnight Ramp Closures-Week of April 7 until April 10

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has started installing new retro-reflective signs at several locations on Interstate 80 (I-80) between Vallejo and Dixon in Solano County. The work started in early April and will continue for approximately 3-4 weeks. All work is weather permitting.

To ensure worker and public safety, the following ramps will be closed at various dates from 9:00 PM-5:00 AM between April 7 and April 10. Caltrans will make additional announcements for sign installation work continuing after April 10.

I-80 Overnight Ramp Closures-Vallejo-Fairfield-April 6 until April 10
• I-80 Eastbound/Westbound Georgia Street off-ramp/on-ramp-closed
• I-80 Eastbound/Westbound Springs Road off-ramp/on-ramp-closed
• Westbound I-80 connectors to eastbound and westbound State Route 37
• I-80 American Canyon Road/Hiddenbrooke Parkway off-ramp/on-ramp closed
• I-80 Eastbound Red Top Road on-ramp-closed
• I-80 Westbound Red Top Road off-ramp-closed
• State Route-12 (SR-12) eastbound connector to eastbound I-80-closed

The new signs are illuminated by motorists’ headlights, making them more visible than traditional signage, and don’t require electricity.

J-Mack Ferry-Overnight Closure- Starts April 7 at 10PM

J-Mack Ferry-Mandatory Routine Maintenance
Overnight Closure
Thursday, April 7, 2016 starting at 10:00 PM

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the J-Mack Ferry in the Delta overnight for routine preventive maintenance.

The J-Mack is scheduled to close starting Thursday, April 7 at 10:00 PM until Friday, April 8 at 4:00 AM.

The J-Mack Ferry runs on a cable across Steamboat Slough between Ryer Island in Solano County and Sacramento County.

The J-Mack, provides around the clock service on State Route 220.
During the closure, motorists are advised to use the Real McCoy Ferry, also known as the Cache Slough Ferry along State Route 84.

Real McCoy Ferry-Overnight Closure Starts April 4 at 10PM

State Route 84-Real McCoy Ferry
Overnight Closure
April 4, 2016 at 10:00 PM until April 5 at 4:00 AM

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is scheduled to close the Real McCoy Ferry overnight to perform mechanical repairs.
The closure is scheduled to start Monday, April 4 at 10:00 PM and will be completed at 4:00 AM on Tuesday, April 5. Crews are completing hydraulic repairs to the Real McCoy which started the morning of Monday, April 4.

The Real McCoy II also known as the Cache Slough Ferry, provides regular service on State Route 84 between Ryer Island and the city of Rio Vista in Solano County.

Real McCoy II Ferry Detour
During the service interruption, motorists are advised to use the State Route 220 (SR-220) J-Mack Ferry or the State Route 84 (SR-84) Miner Slough Bridge as a detour.
