Real McCoy Ferry Closed for Emergency Repairs Starting July 10

Emergency Repairs Started Tuesday, July 10, 2018
Closed Until Further Notice

SOLANO COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has suspended service of the Real McCoy Ferry on State Route 84 (SR-84) until further notice to perform emergency repairs to the boat’s propulsion system. The closure started the afternoon of Tuesday, July 10, 2018.

Caltrans will make an announcement once repairs are completed.

The Real McCoy also known as the Cache Slough Ferry, provides regular service on SR-84 between Ryer Island and the City of Rio Vista in Solano County.

The delta region ferry normally runs scheduled crossings every 20 minutes, on the hour, 20 minutes after the hour, and 40 minutes after the hour.

Real McCoy Ferry Detour
During the temporary service interruption of the Real McCoy, motorists are advised to use the J-Mack Ferry on State Route 220 or the Miner Slough Bridge on State Route 84 to travel between Ryer Island and communities in Sacramento and Solano counties.

Emergency Repairs Started Tuesday, February 13, 2018

SOLANO COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has suspended service of the Real McCoy Ferry on State Route 84 (SR-84) until further notice to perform emergency repairs to the boat’s engine. The closure started on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

Caltrans will notify the public once repairs are completed.

The Real McCoy also known as the Cache Slough Ferry, provides regular service on SR-84 between Ryer Island and the City of Rio Vista in Solano County.

SOLANO COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has suspended service of the Real McCoy and the J-Mack ferries until further notice.

Due to Repairs and Heavy Storm Current
Starting February 8, 2017

SOLANO COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will temporarily suspend service of the Real McCoy Ferry on State Route 84 (SR-84) and the J-Mack Ferry on State Route 220 (SR-220).

The Real McCoy Ferry will be closed overnight starting Wednesday, February 8 at 10:00 PM until 4:00 AM on Thursday, February 9. Crews will be making necessary repairs to the boat’s hydraulic system.

Caltrans will also intermittently suspend service on the J-Mack Ferry on State Route 220 (SR-220) due to heavy current caused by this month’s storms and runoff in the Delta region.

During strong currents this week, Caltrans may intermittently close the J-Mack at various times when necessary during this series of storms.

During the closure of the Real McCoy and J-Mack ferries, motorists are advised to use the Miner’s Slough Bridge on SR-84 as a detour when traveling between Ryer Island and Sacramento and Solano Counties.

SOLANO COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) returned the Real McCoy Ferry on State Route 84 (SR-84) to service at 2:00 PM on January 18. The Real McCoy had been closed since January 12 due to high water and heavy current caused by this month’s storms.

The J-Mack Ferry on State Route 220 (SR-220) remains closed due to high water and heavy current and runoff in the Delta. Service on the J-Mack ferry was originally suspended on Tuesday, January 10.

Due to Heavy Storm Current and High Tides

SOLANO COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has temporarily suspended service of the Real McCoy Ferry on State Route 84 (SR-84) and the J-Mack Ferry on State Route 220 (SR-220) due to high water and heavy current caused by this week’s storms and runoff in the Delta region.

Service on the J-Mack ferry was suspended on Tuesday, January 10. Service on the Real McCoy ferry was suspended at approximately 8:30AM Thursday, January 12.

Both ferries will be returned to service when the current and water levels recede. Caltrans will make an announcement once estimated return times are determined.

During the closure of the Real McCoy and J-Mack ferries, motorists are advised to use the Miner’s Slough Bridge on SR-84 as a detour when traveling between Ryer Island and Sacramento and Solano Counties.

Real McCoy Ferry -Closed For Emergency Repairs
Crews Working to Return Service

SOLANO COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has temporarily suspended service of the Real McCoy Ferry on State Route 84 (SR-84) to perform emergency mechanical repairs.

Crews are now working to return The Real McCoy to service and are tentatively scheduled to return the boat to service at approximately 6:00 PM.
The Real McCoy also known as the Cache Slough Ferry, provides regular service on SR-84 between Ryer Island and the City of Rio Vista in Solano County.

Starting Thursday, April 28 at 10:00 PM

SOLANO COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will temporarily suspend service of the Real McCoy II Ferry to perform overnight maintenance.

The Real McCoy II is scheduled to be closed Thursday, April 28 at 10:00 PM until the morning of Friday, April 29 at 4:00 AM. All work is weather permitting.
The Real McCoy II also known as the Cache Slough Ferry, provides regular service on State Route 84 between Ryer Island and the city of Rio Vista in Solano County.
