FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Interstate 80/Green Valley Road Overcrossing-Fairfield
Watch for Temporary Traffic Lanes
Start Friday, April 29

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and its project partner the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) are nearing completion of construction of the new Green Valley Road overcrossing above Interstate-80 (I-80) in Solano County.

Green Valley Road-I-80-New Lane Configuration-Friday, April 29
Starting Friday, April 29, northbound traffic on the Green Valley Road overcrossing above westbound and eastbound I-80 will be routed onto the new overcrossing. Southbound traffic will continue to use the existing lanes on the existing overcrossing.

The temporary configuration will allow crews to continue work on new approach lanes and prepare for demolition of the old overcrossing. This configuration will be in place for about six weeks until the new overcrossing is opened northbound and southbound.

Eastbound I-80 to Green Valley Road Exit-Detour
Starting April 29 until further notice, motorists exiting Green Valley Road from eastbound I-80 will be directed in the southbound direction only due to the temporary traffic on the existing overcrossing. Northbound Green Valley Road motorists from eastbound I-80 are advised to use the eastbound I-80 Suisun Valley Road exit as a detour.

NB Green Valley Road Traffic-Using Suisun Valley Road Detour
Motorists headed to northbound Green Valley Road and using Suisun Valley Road as detour are advised to exit Suisun Valley Road, turn left at Pittman Road, proceed across the I-80 overcrossing onto northbound Suisun Valley Road, then westbound on Business Center Drive, and proceed on Business Center Drive for about a ¼ mile to Green Valley Road.

Motorists should watch for flaggers and expect delays. The Fairfield Police Department will assist with traffic controls. All work is weather permitting.
