Westbound Interstate 80 Ramp Meter Project-Vacaville Watch For Work at Merchant Street-On-Ramp
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of
Transportation (Caltrans), the Solano Transportation Authority (STA), and the Metropolitan
Transportation Commission (MTC) are continuing work on the next phase of ramp
meter activation in Solano County on westbound Interstate-80 in Vacaville.
As part of
the work, Caltrans is working closely with its project partners and PG&E to
relocate a natural gas pipeline at the Merchant Street on-ramp onto westbound
I-80. Caltrans does not anticipate any ramp closures the week of April 17th.
However, the on-ramp may be closed during some overnights in the month of May.
Caltrans will
contact the public once additional details are available regarding overnight ramp
closures and project completion dates. Crews anticipate completing the work at
the Merchant Street on-ramp no later than mid-June.
In addition
to relocating the gas line, the work involves adding traffic metering lights, and
repaving the roadway.
Motorists
should expect delays and plan for extra travel time. All work is weather
permitting.
