One-Way
Traffic Controls Next Two Nights
SAN MATEO
COUNTY – The
California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will
need to
perform additional electrical work along the northbound and southbound
approaches to the Highway 1-Tom Lantos Tunnels. To ensure worker and public
safety, the southbound bore of the Highway 1-Tom Lantos Tunnel will be closed
overnight with one-way traffic controls through the northbound bore.
Wednesday,
May 29th and Thursday, May 30th-Lane Closures Overnight
To ensure
worker and public safety, the southbound bore of the Lantos Tunnel will be
closed with one-way traffic controls in effect through the northbound tunnel.
The overnight
work is scheduled for two nights, Wednesday, May 29th and Thursday,
May 30th. The
work will start each night at 8 p.m. and will be completed the following
mornings at 7 a.m.
During
one-way traffic controls, one lane of traffic through the northbound tunnel
will remain open at all times with flaggers alternating northbound and
southbound traffic.
All work is
weather permitting. Motorists should allow for extra travel
time.
