Highway 1-Tom Lantos Tunnels
One-Way Traffic Controls Next Two Nights

SAN MATEO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will
need to perform additional electrical work along the northbound and southbound approaches to the Highway 1-Tom Lantos Tunnels. To ensure worker and public safety, the southbound bore of the Highway 1-Tom Lantos Tunnel will be closed overnight with one-way traffic controls through the northbound bore.

Wednesday, May 29th and Thursday, May 30th-Lane Closures Overnight
To ensure worker and public safety, the southbound bore of the Lantos Tunnel will be closed with one-way traffic controls in effect through the northbound tunnel.

The overnight work is scheduled for two nights, Wednesday, May 29th and Thursday,
May 30th. The work will start each night at 8 p.m. and will be completed the following mornings at 7 a.m.

During one-way traffic controls, one lane of traffic through the northbound tunnel will remain open at all times with flaggers alternating northbound and southbound traffic.

All work is weather permitting. Motorists should allow for extra travel time.

Additional project information is posted on the Caltrans’ Highway 1-Devil’s Slide webpage at: http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist4/dslide/

Caltrans appreciates your patience as we work to improve the highways.
