Next Week Caltrans to Close SR 116 at
Night
Caltrans to Begin Night Work at Old
Redwood Highway Interchange
Petaluma, Sonoma County – Caltrans has scheduled a full
closure of State Route 116 from Tuesday night, May 7 through Thursday night,
May 9, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and on Friday night, May 10, from 10 p.m. to 6
a.m. Eastbound and westbound directions will be closed to motorists,
bicyclists, and pedestrians. This closure is necessary for the demolition of a
portion of the southbound U.S. 101 bridge. Detour:
During this work, traffic should detour to Caulfield Lane and S. McDowell
Boulevard.
In
addition, construction is beginning for the Old Redwood Highway Interchange
Improvement project. There will be lane closures on northbound and southbound
U.S. 101 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The northbound off and on-ramps will be closed
Monday night, May 6, while the contractor restripes the roadway. The southbound
on and off-ramps will be closed Tuesday night, May 7 for similar work.
This work is weather dependent. If it is delayed due to weather conditions,
it will be rescheduled for a later time. Please
drive cautiously through the construction zone and leave a safe traveling
distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you. Please remember to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
