Highway 12-Jameson Canyon
Lynch Road-Temporary Closures Start Tonight
NAPA AND SOLANO COUNTIES – The California Department of
Transportation (Caltrans) will begin a key phase of the Highway 12-Jameson
Canyon Widening Project which will require the four to six month closure of Lynch
Road in Napa County.
Lynch Road
between Highway 12 and Polson Road will be closed starting tonight, Thursday,
May 2nd at 10 p.m. The Lynch Road
closure is temporary with the possibility of it reopening as early as four
months.
During the
closure, crews will need to complete four phases of major work on Lynch Road. The
work includes:
1.
Realigning
Lynch Road with the new widened section of Highway 12
2.
Completing
median work on Highway12 near Lynch Road
3.
Building
a drainage crossing under Highway 12 and over Fagan Creek
4.
Widening
Highway 12 eastbound and westbound near Lynch Road
Local Lynch Road Detour:
Residents and
local traffic should exit Highway 12 at Kirkland Ranch Road and access Lynch
Road from Kirkland Ranch Road.
One-Way Traffic Controls-Highway 12
To ensure
worker and public safety, one-way traffic controls will also be in effect on
Highway 12 between the Napa/Solano County Line and Lynch Road beginning
Thursday, May 2nd at 10 p.m. and be completed on Friday, May 3rd at
5 a.m.
During
one-way traffic controls, one lane of traffic will remain open at all times
with flaggers alternating eastbound and westbound traffic. All work is weather
permitting.
