FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
U.S. 101 / State Route 116 Construction
in Petaluma
Caltrans to Close Eastbound State Route
116 for Two Days
Petaluma, Sonoma County – Caltrans is planning to
begin pile-driving in the median of State Route 116 at the U.S. 101 interchange
and has scheduled a full-closure of eastbound SR 116 beginning Saturday
morning, June 8, at 6 a.m. and continuing until 1 a.m. Monday morning, June 10.
Detour: During this closure, traffic
should detour to Caulfield Lane and S. McDowell Boulevard and then return to SR
116/Lakeville Highway.
Eastbound
State Route 116 will remain closed during this time due to staging of
equipment. Residents and
businesses near the interchange may notice increased noise. However,
pile-driving will only occur between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. on
Saturday and Sunday. No pile-driving will take place between 11 p.m. Saturday
night and 7 a.m. Sunday morning.
This work is weather dependent. If it is delayed due to weather conditions,
it will be rescheduled for a later time. Please drive cautiously through the
construction zone and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and
the vehicle ahead of you. Please
remember to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
