Highway 1-Tom Lantos Tunnels One-Way Traffic Control Starts Friday, June 7th
SAN MATEO
COUNTY – The
California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will need to perform paving
work along the North and South Approach Roads of the Tom Lantos Tunnel. To
ensure worker and public safety, the southbound bore of the Highway 1-Tom
Lantos Tunnel will be closed overnight with one-way traffic controls through
the northbound bore of the tunnel.
Friday,
June 7th - Lane Closures Overnight
To ensure
worker and public safety, the southbound bore of the Lantos tunnel will be
closed with one-way traffic controls in effect through the northbound tunnel.
The overnight
work is scheduled for Friday night, June 7th.
The work will
start at 9 p.m. and will be completed the following morning at 7 a.m.
During
one-way traffic controls, one lane of traffic through the northbound tunnel
will remain open at all times with flaggers alternating northbound and
southbound traffic.
All work is
weather permitting. Motorists should allow for extra travel
time.
