SAN MATEO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will need to perform pavement striping work along the north and south approach roads of the Highway 1-Tom Lantos Tunnels.

Monday to Friday – June 17th to June 21st-Lane Closures Overnight
To ensure worker and public safety, one-way traffic controls will be switching from the northbound bore to the southbound bore throughout the night for the week of June 17th at the Highway 1-Tom Lantos Tunnels.

The overnight work is scheduled for Monday to Thursday night, June 17th to June 20th. The work will start at 7 p.m. nightly and will be completed the following mornings at 7 a.m.

The overnight work is also scheduled for Friday night, June 21st. The work will start at 9 p.m. and will be completed the following morning at 7 a.m.

During one-way traffic controls, one lane of traffic through one of the tunnels will remain open at all times with flaggers alternating northbound and southbound traffic.

All work is weather permitting. Motorists should allow for extra travel time.

Additional project information is posted on the Caltrans’ Highway 1-Devil’s Slide webpage at: http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist4/dslide/
