US 101 Palo Alto-Overnight Lane Closures Start June 5

Lane Closures on U.S. Route 101 in Palo Alto (San Mateo County) June 5-6

San Mateo County-The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will begin construction preparation on the San Francisquito Creek Bridge Replacement Project at the border of San Mateo County and Santa Clara County on U.S. Route 101 in Palo Alto.

To ensure public and worker safety, crews have scheduled the following closures June 5-6, Friday and Saturday.

U.S. Route 101 Northbound:
Multiple lanes closed between Embarcadero Road and University Avenue, Friday, June 5, 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM

U.S. Route 101 Southbound:
Multiple lanes closed between University Avenue and Embarcadero Road, Saturday, June 6, 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM
Detours are clearly marked to help guide motorist through the closures.

NOTE: Traffic will be shifted towards the outside shoulders in both the northbound and southbound direction, with both direction auxiliary lanes temporarily removed.
