FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

J-Mack Ferry-Mandatory Dry Dock Upgrade Work
Long-Term Closure
Extended to week of July 5, 2015

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has extended its scheduled long-term closure of the J-Mack Ferry in the Delta.
The J-Mack was closed starting Thursday, March 26 at 12:01 AM, and was scheduled to be returned to service the end of June.

Due to additional maintenance issues encountered during the dry-dock repairs on the J-Mack, the J-Mack is now estimated to return to service the week of July 5, 2015.

Caltrans will make an announcement once an exact return date is determined.
Caltrans is working in collaboration with the U.S. Coast Guards’ mandated dry dock inspection of the ferry. During the repairs, the J-Mack has been moved to a dry dock facility for the U.S. Coast Guard inspection, and upgrade and repair work to better suit the needs of the traveling public.

The J-Mack, provides around the clock service on State Route 220 between Ryer Island in Solano County and Grand Island in Sacramento County.
During the closure, motorists are advised to use the Real McCoy Ferry, also known as the Cache Slough Ferry along State Route 84.

For the latest, call the Caltrans Ryer Island Ferry Update Line at (510) 622-0120.
