Sonoma County – Here are the planned Caltrans lane closures in Sonoma County for the week of December 31. All closures are weather dependent and subject to change.


Highway 1

One-way traffic control between Fort Ross Road and Meyers Grade Road.


Traffic delays are anticipated, and the use of alternate routes is advised when possible. Motorists are also advised that traffic violations in construction zones are subject to double fines. Please remember to “Slow For The Cone Zone”. Caltrans would like to thank you for your patience as we work to improve California’s highways.

STATE ROUTE 4 LANE CLOSURE FOR POTHOLE REPAIR

 

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) are widening State Route 4 (SR-4) through Pittsburg and Antioch.  Wednesday morning, December 26, Caltrans will close the right lane of westbound State Route 4 prior to the Loveridge Road Overcrossing for emergency pothole repair.  The right lane is expected to be closed from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. One westbound lane will remain open during this work.

Please remember to Slow for the Cone Zone. Caltrans and CCTA appreciate your patience as we work to improve the highways.

Real McCoy II Ferry Service Suspension

Real McCoy II Ferry Service Suspension

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will temporarily suspend service of the Real McCoy II Ferry from 10:00 pm Wednesday night, December 26, 2012, until 4:00 am December 27, for maintenance.
The Real McCoy II, also known as the Cache Slough Ferry, provides regular service on State Route 84 between Ryer Island and the city of Rio Vista in Solano County.
The delta region ferry normally runs scheduled crossings every 20 minutes, on the hour, 20 minutes after the hour, and 40 minutes after the hour.
Real McCoy II Ferry Detour
During the Wednesday night/Thursday morning service interruption, drivers are advised to use Highway 160 and the J-Mack Ferry along Highway 220.

Storm Damage Closure on Highway 1 in Sonoma

Sonoma County– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will establish one-way traffic control on Highway 1  between Fort Ross Road and Meyers Grade Road in Sonoma County on Saturday, December 22, 2012, weather permitting.

This closure will allow work crews to perform long-term repairs to this section of storm- damaged Highway 1, and will ensure the safety of drivers and work crews.


An Advanced Warning Changeable Message Signs are in place to warn drivers of this closure.

Please exercise caution while driving, and slow for the construction crews. We appreciate your patience as we work to repair the storm damage.

ONRAMP AND RIGHT LANE CLOSURE ON NORTHBOUNSR-13 IN EFFECT UNTIL 2:00 P.M.

ALAMEDA COUNTY Caltrans has closed Moraga Avenue onramp and the northbound number 2 lane of State Route (SR) 13 from Moraga Avenue to Broadway Avenue to remove a damaged tree hanging over the roadway.

The lane closure will allow maintenance crews to safely remove the tree from the road as quickly as possible. Motorists are advised to exercise caution as you approach all this critical maintenance operation.

The Department of Transportation apologizes for any potential disruptions and inconveniences during this time, as we continue to make safety our top priority. Be alert for workers and please "Slow for the Cone Zone.

Sacramento County– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has closed the northbound lane of the Three Mile Slough Bridge on State Highway 160 in Sacramento County for emergency deck repairs.  One-way traffic control is in place, and will remain until at least 2:00 pm.  Drivers are advised to expect some delays and to use alternate routes.

Storm Damage Closure on Highway 1 in Sonoma

Sonoma County– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has indefinitely extended the closure  of Highway 1  between Fort Ross Road and Meyers Grade Road in Sonoma County. The closure began Wednesday afternoon, December 05, 2012.

This closure will allow work crews to perform long-term repairs to this section of storm- damaged Highway 1, and will ensure the safety of drivers and work crews.

Detours:

Detour northbound: Highway 1 traffic will be directed off the highway at Meyers Grade Road, to Seaview Road, then to Timber Cove Road.

Detour southbound: Highway 1 traffic will be directed off the highway at Fort Ross Road to Timber Cove Road, then to Seaview Road and will reenter at Meyers Grade Road.

Note: Fort Ross Road is not recommended for public traffic.

The detour is approximately six miles in length.

An Advanced Warning Changeable Message Signs are in place to warn drivers of this closure.

Please exercise caution while driving, and slow for the construction crews. We appreciate your patience as we work to repair the storm damage.

Highway 1-Devil’s Slide  
One-Way Traffic Controls Scheduled For Tonight  

SAN MATEO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct additional preventive maintenance on a portion of Highway 1/Cabrillo Highway near Devil’s Slide in San Mateo County due to this week’s rain storms.

The work is needed to prevent further erosion before the next rain storms arrive. This work is to continue the erosion prevention work crews completed on December 4th. Crews will be placing plastic sheets, wire-mesh, and anchors to temporarily cover the embankment slope just slightly south of last week’s work site.

One-Way Traffic Controls-December 17th Starting at 7 p.m.
To ensure worker and public safety, one-way traffic controls will be in effect on Highway 1 between Linda Mar Boulevard in Pacific and the North Portal bridge area of Devil’s Slide beginning tonight, Monday, December 17th at 7 p.m. and should be completed by approximately 7 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18th.    

During one-way traffic controls, one lane of traffic will remain open at all times with flaggers alternating northbound and southbound traffic. All work is weather permitting.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will help direct motorists. Caltrans will also install changeable message signs. Motorists should allow for extra travel time.

Connector Ramps From Between U.S.101 and Highway 1 Are Closed


MARIN COUNTY – Caltrans has temporarily closed the connector ramps from northbound 101 to Highway 1 and southbound Highway 1 to northbound 101 because of the high tide. The ramp is scheduled to reopen when the tide recedes later this afternoon.

Motorists should expect delays and if possible take alternate routes.
