NIGHT DEMOLITION OF FORMER N/B I880 BRIDGE ROADWAY STRUCTURE RESUMES TONIGHT, TUESDAY, SEPT. 11, THROUGH FRIDAY, SEPT. 14, 2012
ALAMEDA COUNTY – Construction crews will resume nighttime demolition activities to remove the old northbound
(n/b) Interstate 880 bridge roadway, between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., Tuesday, Sept.
11
through Friday, Sept. 14
with some lane closures expected in both
directions during demolition construction.
Some lane closures on s/b I-880 will
begin at 7 p.m.
and northbound I-880 lane closures will start at 8 p.m. At least
one
lane will
be open on both northbound
and southbound sides. No
detours for n/b or s/b I-880 are scheduled at this time.
High Street and
42nd Avenue will
be closed to allow crews to safely conduct nighttime demolition of the bridge structure from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Local residents should anticipate some noise,
due to the nature of this construction event. Please contact Gregory Townsend to address any specific concerns you may have during the demolition.
Caltrans will
make every effort to minimize noise and other potential disruptions during this time, while making safety our top priority.
