FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Early
Morning Utility Work May Cause Delays
Petaluma– This Sunday morning, September 9, 2012,
between 6:15 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., the California Highway Patrol will stop
traffic for 15 minutes at a time, northbound and southbound, on Route 101 in
Petaluma, one thousand feet north of the East Washington overcrossing. The
first traffic block will last from 6:15 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. The second will last
from 6:45 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
The rolling traffic blocks will enable PG&E to
safely pull new overhead transmission wires across the freeway north of the
East Washington overcrossing.
An Advanced Warning Changeable Message Sign is in
place to alert drivers of this utility work.
Traffic delays are anticipated, and motorists are
advised to plan for additional travel time. Motorists are also reminded that
traffic violations in Maintenance and Construction zones are subject to double
fines. Please “Slow for the Cone Zone”.
