WHEN:   Monday, September 10, 2012 at 10 a.m. until approximately 11 a.m.
WHERE:       Meet at Caltrans Construction Office, 2320 Courage Drive, Fairfield, CA

WHY: Get your first up-close-look at current progress on the I-80 Eastbound Cordelia Truck Scales Relocation Project. The project will relocate, reconstruct and modernize the existing eastbound Cordelia Truck Scales. The work will improve travel times along the busy I-80 Corridor by improving truck-inspection times, and realigning entrance and exit lanes. Caltrans and its project partners, the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) and the CHP broke ground in April. The project is scheduled to be completed in late 2013.

VISUALS & SAFETY GEAR: Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and take photos as crews move forward with the massive earthwork, concrete structure work, installation of underground technology and construction of a giant overpass between I-80 and Highway 12. Caltrans will provide safety vests, hard hats and round-trip transportation to the construction site. Participants should wear appropriate construction site clothing including sturdy shoes and/or boots.

RSVP REQUIRED:
There is limited space. Participants must RSVP Vince Jacala at 510-286-5206 prior to the event. Availability is on a first-come first-served basis.
