FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Highway 12-Rio Vista
Shoulder
Widening Project
One-Way
Traffic Controls-Week of June 11th and June 16th
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will implement ongoing
paving and paving prep-work as part of a construction project to add shoulder
and turn pocket lanes on eastbound and westbound Highway 12 just west of
Downtown Rio Vista. The project is tentatively scheduled to be completed in
January 2015.
To
ensure public and worker safety during the work, one-way traffic controls will
be in effect on Highway 12 between Curry Road and McCloskey Road, and between
Azevedo Road and Summerset Lane during three consecutive nights, the week of
June 11th, and three consecutive nights the week of June 16th.
Paving
work is scheduled on Wednesday, June 11th, Thursday, June 12th,
and Friday, June 13th starting at 7 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the
following mornings.
Paving
prep-work is also scheduled Monday, June 16th, Tuesday, June 17th,
and Wednesday, June 18th starting at 7 p.m. each night until 5 a.m.
the following mornings.
During
one-way traffic controls, crews will alternate closures on westbound and eastbound
Highway 12 to allow one-lane of traffic to proceed at a time. One lane of traffic
will remain open at all times.
Please
slow for flaggers and construction crews. Motorists should expect delays and
allow for extra travel time.
Caltrans appreciates your patience as we work
to maintain and improve our highways.
