Highway 128-Hopper Slough Bridge Repair
Full Bridge Closure
Scheduled to Start Monday, May 5th

NAPA COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform repairs to the support wall on the Highway 128-Hopper Slough Bridge in Napa County. The bridge is located on Highway 128 (also known as Rutherford Road) between Yountville and Calistoga.

To ensure public and worker safety, a full bridge closure is scheduled to go into effect starting Monday, May 5th at 12:01 a.m. until Friday, May 16th. Caltrans will notify the public once additional closure details are available and also when details about the bridge’s reopening are available.

During the bridge closure, motorists heading onto the Highway 128-Hopper Slough Bridge will need to use detours on nearby Highway 29, the Silverado Trail, and Zinfandel Lane.

Highway 128-Putah Creek Bridge Slab Replacement 

Possible Travel Delays


SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has started a bridge slab replacement project on the Highway 128 Putah Creek Bridge. The bridge is located in Solano County near the city of Winters. 

To ensure worker and public safety, one-way traffic controls will continue to be in effect on the Highway 128 Putah Creek Bridge until Friday, December 14th.  

During one-way traffic controls, traffic on the bridge will be reduced to one lane for the duration of the project. Eastbound and westbound motorists will need to wait at the temporary traffic signal lights just prior to the bridge until they are given the green light to proceed safely across the bridge. All work is weather permitting. 

Motorists should allow for extra travel time. Caltrans will also install changeable message signs

One-Way Traffic Control on State Highway 128



Napa– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be conducting a tree removal project on Highway 128 near the Moskowitz Reservoir. The project begins at Sage Canyon Road and ends at Capell Valley Road.

The project begins on October 01, 2012 and will continue Monday through Friday for approximately 5 to 7 days. The hours of operation will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Traffic delays are anticipated, and the use of alternate routes is advised when possible. Motorists are also advised that traffic violations in construction zones are subject to double fines. Please remember to “Slow For The Cone Zone”. Caltrans would like to thank you for your patience as we work to improve California’s highways.





There will be one-way traffic control during operation.

Highway 128-Putah Creek Bridge Deck Repair Possible Travel Delays

SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has started a deck repair project on the Highway 128 Putah Creek Bridge. The bridge is located in Solano County near the city of Winters. 

To ensure worker and public safety, alternating lane closures will continue to be in effect on the Highway 128 Putah Creek Bridge until approximately the end of October.  

Alternating lane closures are in effect Mondays through Fridays starting at 7 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. each day. During these times, one lane of traffic will remain open at all times with flaggers alternating eastbound and westbound traffic.
All work is weather permitting. 

Motorists should allow for extra travel time. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will help direct motorists. Caltrans will also install changeable message signs
