FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Highway 12-Rio Vista
Shoulder Widening Project
Traffic Shift through Construction Zone in Effect
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is continuing with ongoing paving work as part of a construction project to add shoulder and turn pocket lanes on eastbound and westbound Highway 12 just west of Downtown Rio Vista. The project is tentatively scheduled to be completed in January 2015.
To ensure public and worker safety, the traffic lanes on eastbound and westbound Highway 12 through the construction zone have been temporarily reconfigured. The change was made earlier this month.
Drivers should watch for the new curve on Highway 12 between Azevedo Road and Summerset Road. The curve will allow crews to continue work on the project behind the temporary concrete safety barriers.
Motorists should also observe the posted 45 mile per hour speed limit through the construction zone.
Please watch for flaggers and construction crews in the area.
