U.S. 101 Petaluma River Bridge
Construction
Closures Planned for Girder
Installation
Petaluma, Sonoma County
– Caltrans is scheduling
full closures of southbound U.S. 101 at the Petaluma Bridge in order to install
girders for a new bridge being built between the current northbound and
southbound bridges. When the crane is in operation over the river, there will
be brief closures for river traffic. Petaluma Boulevard South will also be
closed Monday night, June 2 and Wednesday night, June 4.
Southbound U.S. 101 Closure Schedule
- Monday night, May 19 – Thursday night,
May 22
10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
- Thursday night, May 29
10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
- Friday night, May 30
11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Monday night, June 2
9:30 p.m. to 4 a.m.
- Tuesday night, June 3
10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
- Wednesday night, June 4
9:30 p.m. to 4 a.m.
- Detour:
southbound
U.S. 101 traffic will exit at State Route 116/Lakeville Highway, turn left
on Lakeville Highway, continue to State Route 37, and turn right to return
to U.S. 101 (detour is approximately 17 miles, or 20 minutes).
Petaluma Boulevard South Closures at U.S. 101
- Monday night, June 2 and Wednesday
night, June 4
9:30 p.m. to 4 a.m.
- Detour: Route
will vary depending on location. Please follow detour signs.
Petaluma River Closures
- Monday night, June 2 –
Wednesday night, June 4
10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
If
this work is delayed due to weather conditions, it will be rescheduled. Please
drive cautiously through the construction zone and leave a safe traveling
distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you. Please remember to Slow for the Cone Zone.
The California Highway Patrol will be on site during these closures.
