U.S. 101 Airport Blvd. Interchange Project

Full Freeway Closures Scheduled for Falsework Installation

SONOMA COUNTY – In October Caltrans is planning full freeway closures of U.S. 101 at Airport Boulevard in order to install falsework to begin construction of a new bridge. Falsework is a temporary structure that will support the components of a bridge during construction.

• Southbound U.S. 101 at Airport Boulevard will be closed Tuesday night, October 15, and Wednesday night, October 16, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour: Exit on Shiloh Road and turn left. Continue to Old Redwood Highway and turn right. Turn right on Fulton Road and continue to the southbound U.S. 101 loop on-ramp.

• There will also be full freeway closures of northbound U.S. 101 at Airport Boulevard. Closure times will be announced as soon as they are scheduled.

This work is weather dependent. If it is delayed due to weather conditions, it will be rescheduled for a later time. Please drive cautiously through the construction zone and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you.  Please remember to Slow for the Cone Zone. The California Highway Patrol will be on site during these closures.
