SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of
Transportation (Caltrans) will install
the remaining
two new overhead signs relevant to the recently opened new
Interstate 80
Eastbound Cordelia Truck Scales and new I-80/Highway 12 interchange
configuration in Fairfield.
To ensure
worker and public safety, two nights of full overnight highway closures on
eastbound I-80 are scheduled. The first closure will be effect on Tuesday, November
5th beginning at 12:01 a.m. until 4 a.m. The second closure will be
on Wednesday, November 6th at 12:01 a.m. until 4 a.m.
Both closures
will be on eastbound I-80 in Fairfield, just west of the eastbound I-80 exit to
eastbound Highway 12.
Eastbound I-80 Detour in Fairfield:
During the
overnight highway closure, exits to highway 12 eastbound and Abernathy Road
will not be accessible. Eastbound I-80 motorists will be detoured onto the new
eastbound Truck Scale Exit. From the Truck Scale, there are signs which will
direct motorists to I-80 eastbound, Highway 12 eastbound or the Chadbourne Road
exit.
The
California Highway Patrol (CHP) and flaggers will help direct motorists.
Caltrans will also install changeable message signs. Motorists should allow for
extra travel time.
All work is
weather permitting. Caltrans appreciates your patience as we work to maintain and
improve the highways.
