FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Highway 12-Center Divider Work
Intermittent
Closures Between Rio Vista and Suisun City Start February 5th
SOLANO COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will begin replacing dozens
of center divider posts called channelizers on Highway 12 between Rio Vista and
Suisun City on Tuesday, February 5th.
The
work is scheduled to start Tuesday, February 5th and be completed Thursday,
February 7th. Weather permitting, work will start each day Tuesday, February 5th,
Wednesday, February 6th, and Thursday, February 7th at 8:30 a.m. and
conclude at 3 p.m.
The
work will replace dozens of channelizers that have become worn and damaged over
time.
To
ensure public and worker safety, intermittent closures of Highway 12
between Drouin Drive in Rio Vista
and Denverton Road near Suisun City are scheduled.
Crews
will close the highway in both directions for 10 minutes at a time then reopen
the highway to release traffic. CHP will help direct motorists in both
eastbound and westbound directions. Motorists should expect delays and allow
for extra travel time.
Please drive cautiously through the
construction zone and leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and
the vehicle ahead of you. Caltrans appreciates your patience as we work to
improve the highways.
